Rebuilt Turbo 400 Trans. (2wd)

Rebuilt Turbo 400 transmission, new Derale cooling pan, new mount, new convertor, (not pictured) & Lokar Kickdown (not pictured)

This is a true 1968 2wd truck trans. It came out of my 68 CST 1/2 ton. I had it rebuilt but never installed. I am going a different direction with my project, and using a newer OD trans.

$600. no shipping, located in Edison, NJ

Re: Rebuilt Turbo 400 Trans. (2wd)

I can get this shipped for very cheap and no hassle tactics... Let your prospective buyers know... all you have to do is sell it... only obligation is you ratchet-strapping it to a pallet and off it goes. I think adequate straps run $10-$15 bucks... include that in buyers' cost and off it goes... No quotes...time or hassle on u or your buyer's part... I will handle everything with LTL tracking and alll I need is pickup and delivery address... Totally legit...totally guaranteed. Not free-lance drivers or shippers all reputable companies like roadway, express lines, UPS Freight...

Re: Rebuilt Turbo 400 Trans. (2wd)

Hi do you have the receipts for the rebuild?any upgrades on the inside? I like the deep cooling Derale pan I will check with Heavy metal on shipping cost and I think the straps would work great to hold the thing down as I have done this in the past. Thanks

I can ship anywhere. You have commercial delivery or I can have shipped to freight terminal for same rate.

Re: Rebuilt Turbo 400 Trans. (2wd)

Trans. had a complete rebuild, basically stock rebuild. I no longer have the receipt.

I can box the trans up and strap it to a small pallet. It can be picked up at my commercial address (loading dock access).

Once I receive the payment and the trans leaves my location, it is between you and Heavy Metal Chevy, I am not responsible. (I do not know Heavy Metal Chevy)

I guess the way this site works, first "I'll take it", gets it. So, I guess 71super gets it?

Critterman contacted me via pm about shipment. I gave him a quote. Have not heard back and I assume you have not as of yet. First I take it does get it though. I have shipped numerous parts for numerous members and no-members alike. People can vouch and it is all handled by a third party logistics company to get discounted and affordable rates. Engines and transmissions are a piece of cake!

Re: Rebuilt Turbo 400 Trans. (2wd)

The I will take it first thing is really pissing me off. How can any one ask a valid question and get a reply in be fore some one just says I WILL TAKE IT and then they get it automatically, that's just crap, because if you don't ask questions you just are taking a chance that it is exactly what you need. In this case until the question was asked I did not know it was a stock rebuild it could have had mods that I did not want for example. I also contacted Heavy Metal Chevy first about shipping the tranny to me OH WELL 71 super is getting a good deal on a nice tranny.

71super, PM with payment info on the way

critterman71, sorry, I never cared for the "I'll take it" thing either, but it seems to be the way this site works, and I'm following along. I've missed out on few things also because of it. It seems either way I would have had someone annoyed with me. Again, sorry, hope there are no hard feelings.

Re: Rebuilt Turbo 400 Trans. (2wd)

No Problem LUCKTRUCK you are doing the right thing for this forum it is just a junk rule. It is very apparent that there are a select group of members and non members that have the TIME to peruse the site and have a good feel for the right time to be on the forum. I dont blame them for that it is just hard to compete against all of the variables at once but I will keep going if some thing falls through on the deal let me know. Thanks

Re: Rebuilt Turbo 400 Trans. (2wd)

I really hope that the last statement was not directed at me. I work very hard for my money and while I do check this site often, I do not think that is a fair statement. I am sorry that the rule as written did not work out for you, but everyone here has missed because of "I will take it". I am sorry that you feel I jumped in front of you. Maybe you should message a moderator and ask their opinion on the matter, if they agree with you, have them message me and let me know, pay me my money back and you can have the trans, if they do not, then again sorry you feel the way you do.

Re: Rebuilt Turbo 400 Trans. (2wd)

71 super it was not directed at you in general but it sounds like you have a guilty conscience. I work hard for my money as well and that is not nor should it be the point. As far as I am concerned the tranny is yours and from what can be seen it will do you a great job what ever you use it for. If you are one of the lucky ones that has the time to peruse the forum for what you need bonus for you and that is the way it is set up. I will have to do what I can to get to the parts I need as everyone else on the forum does. I will not take up a moderators time to dispute the RULE and I will continue not to tie up someones good with the I will take it and then ask questions and possibly pass on the item that is just wrong in my opinion. Just one question your first sentence states "I really hope that last statement was not directed at me" what exactly did that mean please explain it to me PM me if you wish.

Re: Rebuilt Turbo 400 Trans. (2wd)

alright guys, this is my post and the bickering stops now. No need to take this any further, you both got your point across. Anymore and I will contact the moderator.

I am an honest member and have never had any problems buying or selling on this site, and I want to keep it that way.

I thank you both for your interest in the trans. The trans has been sold to 71super, payment received, shipping pending.

No problem at all. It is pleasure doing business with you and look forward to getting this trans into my 68 with the fresh motor and having a little fun with the truck. I will let you know as soon as I hear from Heavy metal as to pick up and shipping. Thank you for your time and the transmission. Harold
