Quality parts?

Hello guy's! I have a simple question Who sells the best front end parts for your money(tierod ends, ball joints, etc)? Napa, O'Riely, Pep boys...
I have a 1969 C-20 w/a 1971-72 front end up under it. I've looked at at the prices and they have a heck of a range. So whos is the best??? Thanks

Re: Quality parts?

Myself after having done suspension work on automobiles for over 30 years if it doesn't say MOOG on the box I don't put it on . They are a little more but you can't put a price on your life, if a part fails on the frontend it's not good.

I have thought about Raybestos Chassis proucts but havn't hurd enoughabout them to decied. I replaced the outer tierod ends on the 69 that had been in the family for 42 yrs and had iossues. The frist one bent, the second one broke as my wife was pulling in a parking lot (thank god) and the third one broke on me at about 40 mph. The last one is still one the truck and not bent or broken even after the accedent. So i have a bad thast in my mouth about MOOG parts.

Re: Quality parts?

My father-in-law had a frame and axle shop for many, many years and the only parts he used were Moog. Since then though I have heard that Moog quality is not as good as it use to be.

I usually buy my parts at Auto Tire and Parts (Napa) or O'Rielly's.

Re: Quality parts?

I shop around to find the quality parts VS cost. Some of the stores, AZ near me, are reluctant to say who manufactures a part, maybe they don't know maybe they do. I don't shop there anymore. I get most of my stuff at Car Quest, they know who makes their stuff and are willing to share.

Re: Quality parts?

I've been looking into this as well. From what I've gathered so far is Dana/Spicer is the best, and they're sold by NAPA under the Napa Chassis brand. They also have the Master Ride brand, but that seems to be of lesser quality... about the same quality or a bit above O'reilly's Master Pro. Last truck I used Master Pro, which seems to do pretty well for a daily driver and they've lasted quite a while. Heavy off road driving and they'd probably fail soon enough, especially if they got submerged underwater.

In talking with people and doing lots of reading, it seems Moog with their recent quality problems comes in 2nd place to Spicer, which is not surprising as Spicer supplies many auto manufactuerers with OEM parts. Moog still is a good part though, and I would use them over O'reilly Master Pro.

I would not buy font end component from Autozone, even their top line. Replacing one of their $15 balljoints 4 times during a decade is not as fun as replacing a $60 Moog balljoint once during the same timeline.

I'm going with Napa's Chassis brand, but it is EXPENSIVE.
