Re: Project Roxy
As far as I know they are 283/327 valve covers. I know they came from an engine with the oil filler tube on the intake manifold. Member Delmo, welded the bungs in for me so I could put a oil cap and a pvc valve in them

He said he's ran into this problem in a few cases. Both with LS motors and regular small blocks.

Should I mask off the silver and paint the rest black?[/ What is the finish on these valve covers? Did you decide which way to go yet? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project Roxy
Thanks guys.. Finally got the motor and trans sitting in the frame without jacks. A buddy of mine is rebuilding the rearend. Should be back in a couple of weeks and once I sandblast and paint the wheels, I should have a rolling chassis

Re: Project Roxy
Well, first time I've picked up a spary gun in 20yrs. Results are ok. I'm told that wheels are the hardest thing to spray..

Re: Project Roxy
It's just aluminzed spray paint in this picture. I tried to paint gloss black over them, then block sanded the script with ultra fine, but it didn't work.
So I ordered some script decals from Ecklers in silver and will repaint them gloss black and put the silver decals on them. |
