Interior Backing Material
Is it better to use jute or the aluminum backing material? Someone told me not to use the aluminum backing material because it would form moisture on the aluminum and rot or rust the material it comes into contact with. Any thoughts?

I used Dynamat down first followed by jute and then carpet..
No moisture issues. Marc

Most of the aluminum products are sealed on the back with some sort of asphalt type material. If it's butted and taped pretty good should be fine. The jute is a guaranteed moisture issue if it's directly on the floor. I agree with youngrodder. Seal it then use the jute.
