Re: a rather dumb power vs manual steering question...

I didnt answer the real question on PS... I am using a 97 "vortec 5.7" with all the serpentine accessory brackets and an '84 GMC truck steering gear box (metric) so I should be able to get a high pressure hose from the '80s(metric) and having a serp setup is nice too.. if it isn't compatable I can have a hose made but I beleive the 80s were metric. That and I haven't mounted my steering gear box but I have read on here that I need a spacer due to the '67 frame not having the dimple for PS. I should have it all installed soon... There are plenty of 88-98 serp set ups in the junkyards and they make a nice looking serpentine accessory belt drive unless you are going for the stock look.
