How to you remove the little thin black trim that runs around the front and bottom of the vent window glass? I need to replace my vent window glass but the new glass doesn't come with the trim piece.

I used a small flat blade screw driver to "open up" the thin black channel and just pulled the glass out, replaced with a new rubber seal that goes inside the channel, put the glass back in place and used a pair of pliers (with tape around the gripping points) to tighten everything back up. Done it 4 times that way with no issues and the glass remains tightly in place.

that is riveted to the vent window frame.. like 1425956 states in the event of a broken window you just scrape out the old glass and reset your new one in.. If you dont have a new rubber gasket, black silicone works too

I can't find the little rubber stripping in the LMC or any other catalogs, would auto glass places carry a universal type piece that fits that?

If you are talking about the stuff between the edge of the vent glass and the metal channel that holds it and swivels then what you do is go to any glass place (I went to Binswanger Glass) and show them what your talking about. it's not exactly rubber but some kind of flexible glass sealing material though. they gave me a small roll of it to do both of my vent windows and then extra on top of that. He let me have it for free since it's not something that people normally ask for

but i'm sure you wouldn't pay more than a couple bucks for it at other places.
