NINE foot bed ?

I have seen an ad and a photo for a 54 5-window pickup.
It is said to be a special order for Coca-Cola... sport side fenders with the extra bed length between the cab and the front of the rear fenders.

I have not seen the truck in person yet- still has lots of yellow and the logo on it.

Anybody have familiarity with this supposedly 9-foot bed set-up?
Also said to be a 1-ton.

I am not familiar with these earlier trucks
any direction and input appreciated
Thanks-

Re: NINE foot bed ?

Yes the 1 ton models had a 9' bed option.

Back in the day Coke trucks were yellow and white. I'd go with it as the theme for the build.

Here's a model truck.

Re: NINE foot bed ?

That red truck looks serious.

OK, so it's not unique for a body style, but the theme is of interest.

I saw the toy pick-up also, but couldn't determine sizing from its scale...

I was reading about the 235 engine- the unforced oiling is probably at risk (without a rebuild) after sitting for a long time.

Thanks for the info!

Re: NINE foot bed ?

Those were often sold to outfits like lumber yards that used them for in town delivery work where a flatbed might have a hard time getting around even in the 50's.
