Re: cigarette lighter problem

The contacts on your phone charger are not making good contact with the lighter assemby. I have to play with my phone charger plug and any other cig lighter powered items that have cig lighter plugs to get them to make contact. I can't just plug them in and assume that they are getting power.

Re: cigarette lighter problem

I have found that some of these car phone chargers don't work in some cigarette lighters plug in. Especially the cheaper ones.

As mentioned above, I have also found the 40 plus year lighters on these trucks are rusted and the springs are weak and don't make good contact. If your's is suspect you need to replace it but don't buy it at local auto parts stores. They probably won't fit right. I believe vendors on this site sell the original style.

Re: cigarette lighter problem

maybe run a new seperate circuit with an outlet expressly made for phones and such rather than the generic cig lighter outlet
