Out side rearview mirrors

I have a 1968 C2500 and currently have the three hole mounting mirrors that use this gasket

but I want to put the sport mirrors on and was wondering if I could technically mount them without drilling new holes in my doors? using a kit similar to this one

those mirrors mount higher on the door than the three hole mirrors.they mount above the bodyline.
