Stripes around 8-9 inches wide 1/4 inch tape line on the side of the main stripe then 1/4 strip on both sides of each. Home made as they come

He is asking opinions, so that is mine. Imho, racing stripes only fit two door vehicles.
I'm pretty sure the majority agrees with me, hence most vehicles you see with rally stripes are two door.
And if you're trying to talk down to me because of my questions or the fact that I'm a woman, I've said I am a NOVICE. So, answer his question not my comment.

Also, imho a nice cowl hood would be a better look for a burb, but please yourself with your burb, afterall you have to live with it. Peace.

Re: ss stripes

Ive been playing with the idea of a single stripe on the hood in gloss black (trucks flat currently).

Imagine that style but ending it before the end of the hood. I dunno though just throwing that idea out there.

Re: ss stripes

In keeping with the family friendly policies of this board, we are not going to bash anothers question or tastes. There are many trucks on this site that are not done to my taste but hey at least someone else saved an old truck like mine from the crusher or just rusting away in a field. If you cant answer the questions by the original poster or make a constructive comment my advice before the report buttons are pressed and myself or another moderator or staff member has to get involved, get the thread back on track and keep the nastiness to yourselves.
C10fan please note that when staff sees an argument starting to brew or wise remarks its not what sex you are or the color of your skin or any other physical characteristic.. it comes down to whether youre a troll or not, and we do not tolerate such things

Re: ss stripes

back on track.. i didnt have my phone or camera but in NJ there is a guy who has a burb that is light blue. He has a small cowl like mine 2-3 inches and the racing stripes are almost as wide as the cowl on his truck... the stripes are dark blue.. he also has the lower part of his body the same color dark blue and althogh it appears the truck hasnt been washed or waxed in several years its not a bad looking thing his burb is a slightly lifted 4X4

Re: ss stripes

IMHO I think stripes look great on the hood, especially on a cowl hood but unfortunately the rest of the truck or burb realy doesn't have any body lines that complement the stripe if you take it past the hood.

Re: ss stripes

Hey guys thanks for the feed back. Its cool if people ask questions about if they think its cool or not. No offense taken. I was just curious as to see what they look like. Not saying i was going to do it. I really like the gm muscle cars but cant find one or care to drive anything other than trucks. My theory was to build my burb as a tribute. Monster power and make it handle. I really like the look of the orange truck that brothers use in their ads. Thanks for all the feedback

I apologize if I came off as rude, certainly was not my intention. Po of my 84 put a cowl hood not my taste but most like them. We all have diff. styles/opinions on what looks good. Peace and good luck with whatever you decide.

Re: ss stripes

I've always thought the 70 Chevelle SS stripes looked good. They are wide and stop before the front of the hood. The 67-72 hoods are shaped better for them, but I think they would look good on any.

I think they should stop just before they come down the hood.

Re: ss stripes

on your burb i think the best bet would be the ss stripes just on the top of the hood like described.

trying to go over the top and down the back is in my opinon wierd looking. not my style at all.

Some examples. I like to see it end on the hood front and nothing on top as well. Can't help but look clunky around the tailgate handle though. Maybe shave it!?
