Re: My BBC conversion is finished!
Sounds like it'll be pretty intense! Good work, it's gotta feel good to get it buttoned up.

Re: My BBC conversion is finished!
I am putting a 496 in mine also and bought the same cam even. Just wondering what the engine idles like? Does it have a nice chop to it? Does it make enough vacuum for brakes? Thanks

Re: My BBC conversion is finished!
Looks good
![]() Do you have a way to post a sound clip? I see you have converted to a hydraulic clutch. Is this due to the trans you are running, or just easier with the BB conversion?

Re: My BBC conversion is finished!
Thanks for the larger pictures, how did you do that. I will try to down load a video to get the sound clip. May need your help again.
The power steering pump is bone stock for an 85 C-30 w/o hydraboost. The cam sounds very radical, choppy, very intense. I am idling now around 1000 rpm to keep the oil pressure up. Will do this for 5000 miles. I run power brakes and the motor make 13" vacuum at 1000 rpm. Good power brakes. I converted to hydraulic clutch about a year ago preparing for this bbc conversion. With the bbc and headers I saw no way I was able to run clutch linkage.
