Re: what do i need to put power brakes on

Thanks for the recommend guys

Norm, here is a link to the booster bracket that I sell for the '63-'66 trucks.

With this bracket and one of the many compatable boosters (the '88-'98 is one of them) and the correct master cylinder, it is basically a bolt on deal. The one modification you will have to make is to lengther the booster pushrod. Itnkrman listed the part number for the correct master cylinder to use.

If so, here's what I just did...

In summary:
- brake booster from an 88-98 chevy truck, suburban, tahoe (got mine at pick-n-pull)
- drum/drum POWERED master cylinder (if it's not a powered master cylinder the piston hole will be to deep) I used Oreilly's part# 10-1363

Not sure about how it bolts up on a '66 or whether you need a bracket or not, but I'm sure Captainfab will chime in here at some point.

There's a lot of different ways to get there so be patient and do your homework.

I am doing the brakes on my 64 C-60 code name "Blue Bob" I will be removing the hydrovac and adding a booster on the firewall and dual cicuit brakes. I don't plan on driving this truck maybe a hundred miles a year but I want it to stop when I need it to.
