3600 series is the same as 3100 as far as body parts, any 3100 to 3800 is interchangeable
fenders and hoods changed year to year but from the firewall back, 55 to 59 is all the same

so the fenders and hood on any 3100-3800 55-57 are the same and the cab and doors are the same on any 55-59 3100-3800 trucks?

Re: parts for a 55 chevy 3600 2nd series truck

for SURE the 3100-3600 sheet metal were the same only badging (emblems) changed, and I think the 3600 had an extra hole in the top of the fender for more visible turn signals but this may have just been added on to alot of the 3600's ive seen

I think the 3800 too... not sure, not much experience with the trucks larger than 3600

Re: parts for a 55 chevy 3600 2nd series truck

one minor correction... you asked if the fenders and hood from 55-57 are the same... they will BOTH bolt to your truck, but the 1957 model was slightly different.

The fenders have a recess near the grill opening to allow for the larger "Mouth" grill, and the hood in 1957 has 2 ridges, much like the 1957 car.

the 1957 hood is completely interchangeable and alot of people like the 'bumped' hood more, but the 1957 fenders will need a little work filling the 2 indents if you plan on using the 1955/56 grill...

I hope this just didnt make you more confused.....
