Don't be afraid of digging up old leads. That's what I did to get mine.

Re: w.t.b a Hickie hood

They were made in the 70's and 80's by Hickey Enterprises. They are fiberglass hoods that are similar to a baja style hood back then. If I remember correctly Vic Hickey also designed the very first chevy blazer. He worked with GM,but had his own company as well

If i am wrong someone let me know, but i should be close anyway

Re: w.t.b a Hickie hood

Yep,that's about it on Vic Hickey. Hey Eric,if you have pictures maybe you could try to make,or have someone make one using a stock hood.

Re: w.t.b a Hickie hood

The hood I have was not made by Hickey, it was an "Eagle Ventures" hood. They had a pattent on the hood for alittle while. I am glad to see you still like the hood Trevor. Send me some pics. Jenn

This is another great deal about this site. So many people know where great parts are, and remember where who had them too.

Re: w.t.b a Hickie hood

He does still have it and said he would sell it. He's up here in Central New York. dunno how shipable it is or if it'd be worth a trip for you. It needs some work where the hinges bolt on. I can pm you his phone number, and you guys can hopefully come to an agreement that works for both of you.

Re: w.t.b a Hickie hood

I shipped my hood Greyhound. Dimensions were really close to there regulations, so minimize packaging. A moving blanket with corner protectors works great.

I can vouch for this. The hood came in really good shape to me. Trevor

Re: w.t.b a Hickie hood

I'd say if the hood needs work in the hinge area the price should be much lower than if not. That's a pretty critical problem requiring some specialized talent to fix correctly. If it were me I think I'd nix the hood springs and find a way to support the hood that doesn't put stress on that area.
