leaf spring and shackle bushings?

Does anyone know what size bushings exactly that a 71 Burb 4x4 has for the rear leaf/shackle set? When I look up the parts, it has two different sets...One set says for 1 1/2 in OD shackle bushing, and the other says 1 3/8 in OD shackle bushing set. Where are they measuring this bushing and how? Thanks in advance

Re: leaf spring and shackle bushings?

It has been my experience with a couple different trucks, including a 72 4x4 burb that the shackles and leaf springs have a thin metal sleeve that lines the spring and shackle. The bushing fits in there. When I use 1 1/2" bushings I will knock out the sleeve. If the sleeve were left in place, I suppose the 1 3/8" bushing would fit in there.

Yours and others experience may vary....
