Question Front Brake Help

Okay so my truck has been a slow ongoing project, well a couple days ago I decided I wanted to check the movement/ free-ness of my wheels in individually. I got 3 of them checked and was on the front driver-side wheel, but this wheel had absolutely no movement at all. So I wanted to know what was up with that, I pulled to tire off and began to try to rotate the front hub and there was absolutely no movement to it still. I began to look at the brakes and noticed they were completely seized. So I began to do your normal procedure of removing the brake pads and all that good stuff. But doing that did not work at all it was seized that bad. So I did what every good at home mechanic would do, I beat them off with a hammer. So what my question is to all the good folks on here is how do you get the rotors off these 4wd trucks with lock-out hubs?

Re: Front Brake Help

Okay to help clarify my question, to take off the rotor do you need to take out the lock-out system to be able to get the hub off to get to the rotor? The picture is not the same axle unit but very similar.

Re: Front Brake Help

Yea you will have to take off the cover for the locking hubs and there are a few locking tab nuts in there that you will need the special socket with the tangs on it. After you take those off the bearings should come out and the hub rotor should come off. Sure someone else can explain this better its been a while since I have had the fronts off.
