Re: what shocks

My 72 4x4 is also stock height and my daily driver. I went with a 9 way adjustable Ranchero shock so I could get a little better ride quality out of it.

On the trails I turn them down so it isn't such a kidney buster. On the street I run them a little stiffer on the front (about 2 clicks more than the back) seems to be a nice balance.

Adding a front sway bar also allowed me to soften the front shocks a bit more for a better ride.

Pretty happy overall considering it's such a short wheel base. About as good as it gets without resorting to aftermarket soft ride springs.

Re: what shocks

I just run Monroe gas LT shocks on my Blazer and on the shortbed 4X4. They seem fine for the weekend driving I do. The only off -roading I do is parking on a grass field at a car show.
