my 72 K5
I've been on the board a short while, mostly on the burb side ( got a '68 GMC) and just recently picked up a '72 K5. Been asking questions and looking for parts but never got around to posting pics. Well today it's about 102+ with a 115 heat index so I figure now is a good time to post. Originally this was from Salt Lake City, but made it to Illinois via Iowa. It was originally blue but has been painted silver. It needs the steering and brakes checked then I may drive it. It wanders all over the road and barely stops. I already went to Missouri and bought original rust free doors, fenders and a better tailgate. Rocker boxes are shot and the 1/4's need some work. Looks to have a later 350 in it with a holley sitting on top. Drove to Minnesota for front seats. Will bolt on parts and prime as I go so I can drive it. I've made the mistake before of takining everything apart at once and then I got overwhelmed.

Sounds like you're making good progress. Get those brakes and steering fixed, then pull the top and drive it!

They made tops with these windows? I thought maybe somebody added them because I never see them. The guy I just bought this from picked up another 72 from AZ and his has the same sliders. Ill get some more pics of the sliders if you want?
