Cowl Vent Mouting pieces?

I am getting ready to install the cowl vent between the hood and windshield but mine is missing all the plastic pieces and the 2 brackets for the screen. It looks like some of these are available through Classic Ind. but they're $13 ea so it looks like I will have over $80 into about 4 grams of plastic nubs and a couple little brackets. Anybody know a better, cheaper source? All the junkyards around me have crushed everything this old.

If I knew what they looked like Maybe I could get them. And what year. I think I know what they are, and two of them are metal.

Re: Cowl Vent Mouting pieces?

Is it a '70s or '80s truck? That area is prone to causing
Cab leaks. On my '78 I'm going to fabricate a plate that will cover up the opening and keep water outta there. I'll probably carefully sheetmetal screw it down and rtv it. Might paint it matte black so it still looks like that stupid plastic peice is there through the cowel

if you pull off the panel you can see the blower motor fan. the reason they do it that way the air gets forced in there when you are driving down the road.

Re: Cowl Vent Mouting pieces?

I'm still sorta curious about the air routing here. Can anyone else pipe up? The kick panel vents are also open to the undercarriage. I'd rather just open a window then have to deal with my firewall rusting out again.
