My first one

I just picked this up. It's going to be my dump run, boat tow, etc. truck for now.

1971 2500 Custom Camper

What does Sierra Grande signify?

I'll post pics when I am allowed to. The system is telling me I am missing a "token".

Welcome from Northern California. "Sierra Grande" is the name of a margarita I once had in Reno. Look forward to pics of your truck.

Re: My first one

"Sierra Grande" I believe is the top of the line option or package for a GMC truck but I might be wrong. Ooh and I always wanted to post this

I like the patina too. I'm thinking of doing a clear coat on it.

She runs pretty good, motor is good.

It has a 350 crate motor in it with a Quadrajet carb.

1) The carb needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

2) Muffler needs to be replaced.

3) Rear brakes need to be replaced.

4) Parking lights won't turn off.

That's all it needs to be a good driver.

Re: My first one

I see one of the options on the SPID was "FLOOR BOARD". I know some trucks have lost a lot of theirs' due to rust, but I thought they all came with floor boards new!

You probably already know this but just in case you weren't just being funny, E81 Floor Board is for a wood bed floor.

The previous owner threw those on.

The spare is on an original steel wheel painted white. I'd gladly trade those Dodge rims for the original steel.

Re: My first one

There's a '71 1500 parts truck that I can get a hold of. Are the 1500 and 2500 bodies the same? Can I swap windshields?
