Re: 305E transmission swap
Quote:
The ZF S6-650 & Allison 1000 are so big GM had to raise the body 2" for them to fit. The NV4500 is the most feasible option. I know nothing about the 305E V6 other than the bellhousing bolt pattern is not the same as a traditional Chevy V8...But for now im going to assume it shares the same bellhousing "spacing" as a traditional Chevy V8. Find a light duty Dodge V8 NV4500, DO NOT buy a V10/Diesel HD version . This adapter bolts between the bellhousing & transmission. http://www.advanceadapters.com/products/pn-712550/ Your existing bellhousing center idex hole will need to be bored to 5.125”. You will need a 1 1/8" X 10 spline clutch disc in whatever diameter your existing clutch disc is. Chevy clutches are already the right size. Shorten the drive shaft, Run a Dodge output/slip yoke. If you go through with this I will help with speedo gears. |
