Talking A/C Question

Hello all, been a member for a few months and have never really posted. Just get some pretty cool ideas from all of your builds and try to apply some of your savy to my build. Im a bit older (28) and have always wanted one of these squares, so a few months ago I decided to start up a little project so my old man and I could spend some time together. I'm looking to pull the trigger on a parts truck to supplement some of the needs for my 1978 GMC project. My main interest is the A/C system and want to see if somebody can educate me as to whether the A/C system from an 85 3/4 ton will fit into a 78 1/2 ton. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Re: A/C Question

Welcome to the site. The best info you get find is from a www.lmctruck.com catalogue. The free catalogue has diagrams of all the ducts and parts. All the A/C systems have the same geraral parts. Every few years the compressor was moved to the opposite side. GM engineers must had a reaso to make hoses shorter or longer over the years. Today, all hoses are minimal length to work with R134.
