please help - cab "kneeknocker" rust

Has anyone ever tried to repair rust in the "kneeknocker" section of a 60-63 cab? Please see photo. Is it possible to repair in this location without comprising the structural integrity of the cab, or should I just find myself a better cab? I'd much prefer to keep the cab I have if this can be repaired.

As far as a better cab, it seems they're all on the west coast. How do I arrange shipping of something that large?

Appreciate your help.

Check the build threads but most will weld in supports while making extensive repairs to the cab. I have limited experience but I would guess anything can be repaired with enough know how and determination.

As far as shipping a cab, get in contact with a few freight carriers and give them dimensions and weight plus starting and ending locations. Might cost a bit but be much easier in the long run

Ozzyman,

Thank you for your suggestions. I've looked around and couldn't really find much on repairing or replacing the A pillars on a 60-63 cab. Hopefully, someone else here can point me in the right direction. Just want to know what I would be getting myself into.

it's doable. Just brace above, below, and between the braces vertically as well...think H turn sideways with one more vertical to keep things square.
