Trans & transfer case?

I have the opportunity to get a super t10 that is adapted to a dana18 what I would like to know is would the trans and the transfer case be able to take the abuse of a 79 k5 with roughly 350hp/400tq 3.73 gears stock height 33" tires

Re: Trans & transfer case?

No. The Dana 18 will be very short-lived in a fullsize truck. Get a SM420/T221 or a SM465/NP205.

Re: Trans & transfer case?

How did they hook up an adapter to a Super T-10?? I didn't think the tail shaft was removable?? The tranny would survive but not the case....

The Dana 300 is marginal for a fullsize. It might survive for a little while, longer in a street queen, but ultimately when playing around in 4WD...it will grenade.

Re: Trans & transfer case?

Why don't they make an adapter kit that allows the use of a np203/205 combo
they make one for the m20,21,22 series trans but not the t10. Oh Well

None of those are real good 4WD transmissions.
