AD Power Windows

Have any of you guys used a kit like this to add PW to AD trucks?

I tried a kit about like that but never could get it to work right so I ditched them and kept the manual windows.

I've never put one in a truck but installed one in a '64 Falcon.. took a little work to get it adjusted right but seen to work ok.. I've installed power window kit in a '52 suburban but used a kit from nu-relics out N.C. They fit just like stock if they would have made them back then..

S10Fan, I have used those power window a few times. If you do use them I would see if you could find a lower strip to go across the bottom of the window because those have 2 clamps that hold the glass. I used them on a glass 33 vicky and had problems before I finally figured that out. I is a good thing I have a friend that cuts glass and has a glass sander. Because I to put a new piece of glass in. The doors flexed too much and put pressure on the glass a just 2 places. I always cut out my doors out so it is easier to put them instead of that small hole. Then reinforce the doors then.

I was planning on using a set of those if they are the ones made by Specialty power windows. I have their wiper setup already.

The system is similar to a Mazda I had and the 91 Dodge Grand Caravan that my wife drives. You want to make sure that the glass slides very smoothly in the channel though as if it binds at all on the stock rigs it causes problems.

i used that same exact cable driven power window kit on my 1950 chevy truck.i tried saving money and i bought the kit for $145 that suppost work with any flat glass straight up and down from ez wire. the kit needed a ton of modification and they said they used delco motors.but the windows had a really hard time rolling up. the next time around i did what parkwood did and used the one from nu relics from chevs of the 40s.but the draw back is that it cost about $435.man what a nice kit .it truly uses the factory holes and has tons of power.

For what ever kit you use this must be checked BEFORE you add the power kit.
T
