hoping for help

I've got a 66 c-10 with a 73-76(?) tilt column.it has just the ignition switch park lever and tilt lever no other controls such as wiper, cruise etc..

my question(finally)

I have a 66 impala steering wheel.I placed the wheel on the column it fits, sort of.looks as if the bottom of the wheel is gonna press down on the cover plate(alot).

has anyone used one of these wheels in a 73-87 truck?

thought I would ask here.I have done the search on here and other sites.

thanks in advance

Re: hoping for help

Think I've seen a few squares with impala wheels on them. So I beleive they should fit

Re: hoping for help

thanks for the reply insidous.helps me comfirm on the splines being the same......
well seems as though the splines are the same but the position of them is different,as in sitting lower on the shaft.

the Impala wheel bottoms out on the dust cover plate on the column.

anyone using these wheels on the 73-87 columns run into this problem?

thanks
