Some fresh pics

Well, since my truck wasn't on the road from last Novermber until just a couple moths ago, I haven't been able to get it out for any pics. I drove it to work the other day, and took these behind my dad's house. They're not great and the truck isn't really cleaned up, but I figured I would take some anyway. This also shows the new drop also. I changed from 1" front drop springs to 2" drop springs.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Not too much this weekend. We're going to a parade/cruise-in in Rogersvile, TN Friday night. There's a small show at the Sevier Co high school on Saturday, but I have other engagements, so I won't be able to attend.

Thanks to all for the compliments. It really means alot.

Re: Some fresh pics

What kind of mpg are you seeing with the carbed setup? Which block did you start with? Did you do any performance mods, etc. ?

Re: Some fresh pics

I haven't checked mileage yet. I'm not getting great mileage yet, for three reasons. 1) I still don't have the timing set correctly. 2) It's setup for a 4.11 gear, but I still have the 3.07 gear in it, so things aren't working properly. 3) I just can't keep my foot out of it!!!!

It's a stock 5.7 LS1 with stock 241 heads from an 02 Camaro with approx. 40K miles. It has an aftermarket valvetrain including a custom cam with 232/240 dur@.050 581/581 lift on a 110 LSA with +2 advance, dual valvesprings, and shorter pushrods. Just the cam upgrade should have me putting approx. 400 +/- hp to the rear wheels once I get it properly tuned.

Re: Some fresh pics

Hey Matt, is the timing controlled through and MSD box or something similar? Also, how do you adjust shift points?

Re: Some fresh pics

Buck, the timing is contrlled through an MSD timing control box. It comes with preset "pills", but also has software to set custom timing curves. With the tight lobe separation, and built in advance, it doesn't like the high idle timing in the pills and wants to deisel when I shut it off. Also, from what I have read on LS1Tech.com, carbed LS motors don't like alot of total timing. Most seem to work best at 29 deg total.

As for the shift points, it's a 700R4, so they're adjusted by the TV cable. If it were an electronic trans, the shift points would be adjusted through the ECM.

Re: Some fresh pics

Very cool to be able to make those adjustment on a carb'd configuration. Using the 700R4 makes total cense, I should have known you would go that route. Did you use the TV setup from Bowtie Overdrives (TVMadeez)? I used it on a past project and it worked really well!
