Few c10 questions for the wise...

Hey Guys,
New to the site, im a c10 guy who just picked up a project.. so i have a couple easy questions if anyone could help a guy out. Thanks in advance!

ok so im building a 70gmc swb 2 wheel drive p/u. it came with three extra fenders two or three are chevy. How can i tell the difference between chev and gmc? Im guessing the bodylines in the front of the fender are different for the chev grill on the chevys. so I want to put a 71 chev grill in it, honeycomb one with the blue bowtie... i have gmc grill and fenders on it now, so for the transition im guessing i will need chevy rad support and fenders to put in the 71 grill? Are the 71 chev fenders specific? Can i use my gmc rad support or since its four headlights it wont work with the chevy set up? sorry for the rookie questions!

Re: Few c10 questions for the wise...

Hey man, welcome to the board, 67-72 GMC trucks used the same fenders as 67-68 Chevy trucks, so if you are planning on doing the 71-72 Chevy grill, you will need 69-72 Chevy truck fenders and a 67-72 Chevy rad support, you can always modify your GMC rad support to accept the Chevy headlight hardware, but it will take some knowledge (its doable) but easier if you can find an original 67-72 Chevy, good luck homeboy!

Re: Few c10 questions for the wise...

hey gents thanks for the comments!
@paisaloco67 Thats great advice on those specific years for the fenders. Now i will know what i need to complete the front end, and buying a chevy radsupport sounds like the way to go, especially for around 200$ for one. I cant wait to really tear into this thing, its daunting looking at it just sitting there, she needs a complete resto so im a little overwhelmed! one panel at a time im telling myself. Pics to come!!!
Sema next week so i will get some c10 pics there too! stoked for that show.

until next time, hope to build a project thread soon..........D
