windshield washer container mounting

Well when i pulled the truck apart i removed the washer botle bracket ,so i thought but i am looking at the drivers side fender and there are no screw holes in that area at all for that. and none on the other side, it is a 67 and i do have the new hose ran from the pump down the drivers side where i thought i remember it going. And no i didnt fill in the holes and they are the stock fenders. I must be loosing it because i have not had that many beers yet. and less you all can tell me another location it would of been on a 67 some one else has swapped my truck for another while i was'nt looking. Thanks

Re: windshield washer container mounting

The only variation I can think of right now are the later trucks with the left aux battery. On those trucks the botttle was moved to the right fender. Not sure if this applies to the '67s though. Its in the assembly manual, I think.

Re: windshield washer container mounting

My early 69 has it mounted on the radiator core support above the voltage regulator also. The washer bottle bracket for the core support mount is also slightly different from those I've seen for mounting on the fender in order to stand out from the core support enough for it to clear the top of the core support. Here's a picture showing the 2 brackets. The one on the right is the one used on the earlier model years, and the one on the left is the one I've seen on the later models with the fender mount.

Which bracket do you have? Bet it's the one on the right.

See additional picture showing it mounted on the core support in post 7 below.

Re: windshield washer container mounting

This is what I did on my 68-
The one by the radiator is my over-flow bottle and the one on the fender is my washer bottle.
If you look close, there are three small punch marks on the fender telling you where to drill for the mounting holes.
The mounting brackets were used on all GM models thru the 60's on up to at least 79.Easy to find in the junkyards.
