New member with a wheel hub issue - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hello all, this place is amazing, full of great builds and very talented builders.
I am just getting started in this process, with a 1970 CST 10 4x2 LWB, and I have already gotten a ton of help just reading through everyone's build threads.

Here's my question.
The PO of my truck ran the front driver side wheel with just 5 of 6 lug studs for however long and the wheel hub and brake drum were basically fused. When I was installing the new stud, I found the reason there was no stud in it. The hole was way rounded out, to the point the new stud just slips in and out.

Is there a repair method for this? Or are there replacements available? I have called all the local parts stores. The local salvage hard doesn't have anything older than 85, and I haven't had much luck finding one online.
Where should I look?

You can look on the classifieds.Someone surely has one.If you're doing drums,I have one but shipping might be high.PM me if you dont find one.

I just looked into shipping 30 lbs from California to Louisiana for about $35, bulk ups. I was surprised it was so cheap.

Replaced a lot of wheel studs in the shop. Back in the day we had access to studs with over-sized shoulders for this purpose. Drill over size, press in the stud, and swedge in the press to hold it in. Not sure of availability now. Like was said above, a replacement hub and drum may be your best option.

GRX, i looked for studs with a larger shoulder, and got the one with the biggest shoulder the local parts shop had...
