Wheel fitment

I've searched around & see no reason they won't fit a 1999-2006 Silverado, but according to the Tirerack fitment Guide they don't. If they don't? Why not?

Wheel Vintiques #939-66-7806042
17 X 8 RALLYE 6 LG SILVER 4 1/2 B.S.

Re: Wheel fitment

99-06 trucks take a hubcentric wheels & those are probably lug-centric...I'm just guessing that's why. But then again I see now where they make rings to correct this problem.

Re: Wheel fitment

Hmmmmmm.....
I don't put too much stock in hub centric definitions, since I believe that the lug nuts themselves will center the wheels correctly without having to rely on centering in the hub. Maybe I'm wring, but I know of many people who have put "hub centric" wheels on "lug centric" cars without any problems, so I don't see it as any big issue.

Re: Wheel fitment

Details on that particular wheel says hub centric- no. Also the lug nut seats come in a couple of different angles.
I'm not sure but I think there are different 6 lug pattern measurements. As some are measured in metrics.
I've got a friend who has the car style rallys on his 96 GMC. I'll see what part number he used maybe.

Re: Wheel fitment

Looking forward to hear what your friend has.

I know both the wheel & the truck are 6x5.5" so he lug pattern is the same.

Re: Wheel fitment

No luck on the part #. He did get his Wheel Vintiques from Summit though.
He suggested going to Wheel Vintiques' site and find the part # you need then go to Summit to order them for less.

Your friends '96 is lug-centric too, so I can understand why they'd be a Direct Fit. I don't see why they wouldn't fit ('99-'06 with '68 fit wheels) unless the center hub is too big to fit. Unfortunately I don't have either one ('99-06' 1500 or '68 wheels) to do a test fit nor do I wanna order wheels & "hope for the best".

Fortunately my wallet is way smaller than my desire to build it, so I've got plenty of time to figure this out.
