Moving fuel tank

I have a 71 k1500 and I want to move the gas tank out of the cab. I don't want to pay so much much money for an aftermarket under-bed tank. Does anyone have any cheap solutions for me? Would a blazer tank in front of the rear bumper work?

Re: Moving fuel tank

Long bed, use a 73-87 blazer tank. Short, use a 70-72 blazer tank from one of the vendors. We used a 90 Jeep wrangler tank, as it doesn't hang down as far. Bout 90 brand new from Summit. Dorman part.

Re: Moving fuel tank

I think some have used 67-69 Camaro tanks as well.

Re: Moving fuel tank

I swapped a 72 blazer tank into mine just in front of the rear bumper.

Re: Moving fuel tank

Would I be able to fit a saddle tank between the frame rails?
