78 k10 - axle/bolt question

hey guys, looked at another k10 yesterday. i've only ever glanced at c10's.

the front axle had more bolts on it than the rear axle.

is that normal, or a sign someone swapped stuff out?

the rear was 10, if i remember right, the front was 12.

trying to see if this guy is interested in trading trucks, but was curious about the axles.

Re: 78 k10 - axle/bolt question

Somebody swapped 'em out.

From the factory the number of lugs on the front axle will always match the number on the rear (....and "8" is the biggest number for a K10 - K30).

He is talking about the pumking bolt count.
Read about various counts and years here: http://coloradok5.com/axleguide.shtml
