Heads up my California Brothers and Sisters

Just to get it out there for those who don't know.......California has a new proposed law- SB708 which pushes the SMOG law back to 45 years!!!!! Hope you all kept your smog setups (maybe I'll start grabbin all the air pumps and stuff I can now---- I'll make millions!!) Time to once again write the politicians If the law is passed it takes effect in 2005. I think there is a complete story on the law on the SEMA website.

Hey gang,

Not truck related but I happen to have a NOS air pump and bracket for a 69 Nova that came with a 307. Any idea what its value is or what it's worth? I don't want to do the ebay thing but it's doing me no good since I'll never redo a nova or build one back to original spec. Thanks.

Theyve been workin on 708 for close to a year, if not longer now. I have already written my reps. I have a feeling that the support isnt there for it.

Just another nail in the coffin of this liberal f**ked up "Golden" state! I'll be glad the day comes when I can turn my back on this piece-of-s**t state for good and all of the discord that goes along with it
I did it once and, stupid me, I came back I was born here but I'll be damned if they bury me here!

Link for SB708

Here is the link for the bill. It sounds more like a vehicle assistance plan of some sort. I see that it did say at one point to make it 45 years but if you look at the amendments that part is gone.

.....looks to me like another nut has fallen out of the tree..... I don't think we have much to fear with either this crack-pot trying to push his bill nor us having to put smog on our rigs...... but I hear Colorado is nice too or maybe New Mexico

It has been tried before but my guess is that it WILL pass this time. look what you are paying now on your License fees. 3x what it was last year. Glad I made the move to Oregon last year. No smog on ANYTHING-ANY YEAR and $30 for 2 years on my license. Also NO SALES TAX... Gotta love it! Remember, Arnold maay be a REPUBLICAN but he is married to a family of Liberal Kennedys.. He will never terminate this one.

An even bigger problem with it is that most cities here in Calif have laws on the books that say you can't have a unregestered car on your property. If you can't pass smog and get a tag the city can take your ride. I have been told by someone thats with the EPA that the auto manufactures are pushing hard for this new law. If they can outlaw old cars and trucks they can sell new ones.

Thats If i own the property and pay taxes on it I will damn well put on my property what the hell I feel. As long as it is not an eyesore, (I can see if it is a rotting POS in the driveway in plain view) NO municipality is going to tell me I can't store my rides in my OWN YARD be it registered or not. The only places these kinds of laws stick is in the yuppie/preppie SUV driving "soccer mom" HOA gated communities where I would'nt live anyway!!!

8=======> California...get it?
