Actually there have been cases of theft and break ins reported where owners have used guns with force as well as protection with no charges filed. We are one of the few states in the country with very laxed gun laws. Much like Nevada, Texas, Tennessee and probably a few others.

Most people conceal carry here. But I guess aluminum bats might work in a pinch too
Here in Oklahoma, we got open carry as of the 1st of November. Although there hasn't been a connection made, the only thing that's gone up is car break ins. They think that the thieves are looking for an easy score of a pistol in owner's cars. Why, you ask? Because the concealed carry law has some provisions in it that don't allow concealed carry to some businesses. I'm scheduled to get my concealed carry next month, so maybe I can chime in on more info then.

We also have the "Make my day" law. Gist of it is that if your house is being broken in to, you have every right to defend yourself with deadly force. The running joke is that you shoot them and drag them inside your house.

I remember a time where it was still legal to put a shotgun in the back window of your pickup. I don't remember too many people having their weapon stolen either. Guess a lot of people have developed a bad habit of not watching out for each other and instead, watching out for good ole #1.

So very true. I still see people occasionally carry a rifle in the back window of a truck when I'm in Ohio, haven't seen it in AZ though which I thought was strange since our gun laws are so laxed here.

Don't need a CCW here in AZ unless you want to conceal carry into an establishment that serves alcohol, then a CCW is required. Most people conceal carry, and some still open carry here. CCW permits are still a good idea though in my opinion.
Also here in AZ, in a car the gun can stay loaded, and in a holster within arms reach (can be concealed or laying on the seat). Other states make you keep the gun in and lock box and the ammo stored somewhere else (not much good in a bad situation). California is like that, and I always have to try and remember that when we drive accross state lines (I have family over there). I also have to remember to carry the baby glock because Cali also has a 10 round clip limit.

It's very different (and confusing) depending on the state your in. Here in AZ they offer CCW's for various states because the laws are different. So we (as a familiy) are planning to take other CCW classes for states like Utah, Florida, etc...that are offered here, if nothing else just to familiarize ourselves with the different laws when we travel.

Good to hear Oklahoma is changing. Texas just below you is pretty good on their gun laws (I believe a CCW permit is required there if you want to conceal) and other states like Nevada, Tennessee are pretty laxed.

Have to see how things play out. After the election gun sales went through the roof here (again) as I believe happened most other states too, you can't even get near J&G on the weekends, it's a madhouse

They showed something like this in the "Robocop" movie. It did not exist at the time. But the one in the movie actually KILLED the thief!

I was not offended. This is a place for opinions and I like to hear all kinds for new ideas. BTW I should clarify something. My 4-claw club from the 1990s is not used to deter thieves. I use it to keep my wife from unauthorized use of my truck when I am not around. If she has an emergency she can call me for the location of the club key. My wife is a JINX with vehicles, so this is my only way to keep my vehicles safe.

Re: Security

i have a switch i have to hold and turn the key for my truck to start lol but thats not the best part my air horns have a buttion on the dash labled start so there thinking hummmm key dont turn it over maybe this will lol plus the msd box has the white wire grounded by a switch

theres lots of things you can do ive seen people put a relay in using the cigeret lighter as a switch ... still works like normal but compleats the circit for the crank wire

my black truck was a wireing mess wondering why it wouldnt start i found someone spliced into the purple wire so i spliced it back togeather then i yanked the crap out and they had put the smallest buttion id ever seen behind the ash tray door

if you can wire a circit anything is better then nothing because all it really takes is pulling the steering wheel off taking the lock ring off and 1 bolt takes the ignition tumbler out. if they wont your ride bad enough its not going to be neat ... i dont even lock my doors because glass is a pain to clean up and a factry radio there not going to take
