No heat in ND

I have a question guys. My heat does not blow very strong when the fan is on high. When I move the heat slider to shut the heat door the fan blows strong but with cold air. With the fan still on high when I move the slider to turn the heat on it blows weak. It does not matter if the air blows out of the top vents or floor. This is a no. AC cab. It has a new heater core and the fan is in deed blowing air.

I know I need to take the heater box apart tomorrow but I reall do not know what to look for.

It sounds like you have a mouse nest blocking your heater core. You say it has a new heater core. How long ago, and was the heater box cleaned out inside and outside the cab?

Re: No heat in ND

Did you put the heater core in? Mine didn't blow strong on heat, but it had a mouse nest in front of it. Either that or the door that shuts off the heater core area isn't opening, which would allow fast air when cold is selected but not hot air.

Re: No heat in ND

I put the heater core in this spring but the truck was only used about once a month over the summer. When the heat is on it does not smell too good at times. Kinda like a musty smell.

Re: No heat in ND

I had the same problem. Mine was also in a non-A/C cab and I think LockDoc is probably right, sounds like debris of some sort. Mice love these old trucks too!! lol

Re: No heat in ND

It took the heater core box apart and it was a huge mouse nest. I cleaned and also cleaned the interior box and it works great. It's blowing very hot now. I had to get it fixed because it is getting a boss plow power v-xt installed this week!

Glad you got it working. ND and no heater is not a good combination...
