C-notch ?????????
Just wondering if an LMC c-notch has the durability based on the price of $140 vs. one from PB for $250. Thoughts......

Both will work in most cases, but the Porterbuilt is definitely a heavier duty c-notch. Especially being you are cutting out a section of your frame, the Porterbuilt better re-inforces that area in my opinion.

Another question may be, do people use it primarily as a bolt-on, or do they weld in place for extra strengthening?

Most people will bolt-in, which is plenty strong. I have seen it welded as well, if you want a little cleaner of a look without the bolts showing. I personally like the look of the bolts.

X2 on the bolt look. Especially grade 8 hardware with a black or dark color notch.

PB notch in my GMC. Top notch stuff man. It has 17 grade 8 bolts in it. I honestly feel like its stronger with the notch than it ever was without it. Check out my build and there are a bunch of pics. The main thing is you gotta take your time. Its much easier with the bed off too. I dont regret it for a minute.
I have an extra upper shock bar Ill sell if you need it. Also highly suggested addition. It helps a lot with shock travel and efficiency. Travis, I need some PB stuff brother.. can I get it through you? PM? Sorry for the minor hijack.  Posted via Mobile Device

Yes, but will be a little more difficult to drill the holes that go through the top of the frame rail.
