Has anyone used a glove box door as a guage panel?

I was pondering what to use to make a gauge panel that wasnt cheap plastic and I need a few extra gauges. I thought I could use a glove box door to keep the dash symmetry. I am not a fan of chrome or anything shiny and I ruled out a cut piece of sheet or aluminum because it wouldn't carry the depth of the glove box door. Any pics or ideas would be welcome.

That is fantastic! I wasn't sure if it would work but I can plainly see it has. If I am ever able to get started on it I will certainly post it. I was thinking Speed Hut gauges and small LEDs for the turn signals, high-beams and the brake warning. Ideally I would like to find a way to install trailer brake controls there so the kids don't keep hitting it under the heater. The truck will never be kid-proof but I found that simplicity will bring it ever closer.

You have a lot of options with Speedhut, you can put turn signal and high beam LEDs right on the gauge dial surface if you want, I've talked to them about this. You can even alter these to some extent. So, if you wanted to keep the same layout, you could put the turn signals and high beam indicators on the 3-3/8 guage in the middle, or one turn signal on the left large guage, one on the right and high beam in the middle. Also New Vintage, another custom gauge company, makes an ala carte idiot light bar you could use as well. If you don't care about the original layout, you would be surprised how much you could fit in the space one of these panels has, you can pretty easily put more gauges and indicators than you can think of functions for.
