I sure wish it was - that was a collection the owner had - I ALMOST bought that truck. Some days I like banana yellow, somedays, not so much... But it was a VERY nice truck. It was last offered at $7500, and I don't know if it ever sold, but the curator left a msg on my answering machine making one alst ditch effort... Very worth the asking price.

Re: how good of a deal is this and what is its value?

Blue, the aux tank switch appears to have been broken off (or perhaps it was replaced with a toggle - hard to tell in the switch). But, it should be a rotary knob, kinda similar to the stock radio knobs. The dual aux tank config you ask about would not have had that partcular dash fuel gauge selector switch, I do believe that was only for the NL2 configuration with single left side aux. There should be a fuel supply selector valve on the floor down by the left door sill.

Hard to say about current aux tank status. It should have originally had the forward bedside gas cap/fill tube with RPO NL2 though, if I'm not mistaken. It is possible wheelwell fill aux's have been added (I have them too), but that means the original NL2 config is long gone. Probably something important to ask the seller about when you talk to them.

Going back to an earlier question you had - you asked if you were perhaps OVERpaying because it's a Cheyenne Super and you don't care about that - just want K20 w/buckets. I kinda glossed over that - while I think the price is fair, if YOU personally don't want or care if you have a Cheyenne Super, then yes, you personally are overpaying, because the fact is that a Cheyenne Super will cost more, sometimes much more, than a Custom20 K20 or Custom D K20. While I mentioned it's hard to find a factory K20 with buckets - you might come out money ahead to find a nice K20 Custom or Custom Deluxe and then simply add buckets. K20's are very available, just not with factory RPO for buckets - so if you are willing to spend $1K-1.3K on a nice bucket setup, you will probably save more than that by not paying the premium on a Cheyenne Super... Just another approach to consider for getting what you want.

I agree with you Jocko, but i was just noting that it at least was there at one point matching the spid. I personally would love to check that truck out. The buckets look cool but wheres the "ol" lady sit. LOL and I think the dude assembled the mirrors wrong and mixed the arms around somehow. than again I never been good with puzzles.

Ah, I understand. As for the mirrors, they aren't gm or even repos. Look closely and see how the stem attaches to the mirror head. That's the non-gm giveaway.

Yep, looked at your truck in the K20 thread again - I think you are right. But yours look to be mounted correctly, not all catty -whompus, i.e. the lower legs are level horizontally.

Re: how good of a deal is this and what is its value?

Today's market for old car's and trucks are priced way to high.I have a friend that has a 1969 Z28 Camaro with the RS package with the hide away lights its a factory number matching car Its in good condition but in need of a repaint to make it move one step higher. It was at $50,000 Book on it now has dropped it to $40,000.There are people on here any other places that state these trucks can reach up to $40,000 your dreaming Maybe over sea's it might get a buyer but to be fair supple and demand there are way still to many of these trucks around for them to ever to out price a 1967-69 Camaro's Impala.Barret Jackson Just has a 1961 Impala with the 409 with the 4 speed only sell for $24,500 I'm a truck man but the 409 with a 4 speed there more Rare they any of are trucks put together.Less numbers Even are short bed fleet sides.

a 1969 cuda with the 340 only got $21,300.00 and it was a numbers matching car with less then 80,000 miles on it.This hobbie and the price of these trucks are trying to fetch moneys that there not worth.the price tag is going down on Collector car's.

the only ones that still fetch in to the 40,000 to 100,000 are the ones we will never have the money for short beds mabey worth at the top- price maybe $22,000 2 ways of getting it there A full off custom with fuel injected and computer and the latest suspension up grades and trick stuff like Corvette Rear end.

Most will say that they can have over 20,000 in to a paint job leaves a lot out of your custom build the market can not bare a $20,000 weekend driver truck only a select few will get that honer to own them. Most of the builder Know that now.

I know of 5 builders that built 3 a month of these trucks Now there out of business one of them still have 7 of these trucks for sale in Oklahoma there sitting in a Warehouse and they have over $38,000.00 But no market for these High end trucks I can buy 2 Camaro's for the price of one of these 40,000 trucks and the Camaro will smoke the truck.OPver priced Hobbie

I believe the tripod part is earlier year my truck came with sport mirrors. The PO had a camper so he put those on it. I recently found stainless 72s at the local PnP so they'll be going on it. Rather do the sports but I have a cabover also

SSTim beat me to it but check the rivots on the VIN plate carefully, should be rosets. Strange they would redo a nice piece like this and screwup on the little things like the emblems. If its real its probably worth it.

Re: how good of a deal is this and what is its value?

Could be a good deal if the things SStim mentions check out. This truck is rare considering the options it has. Heck there were only 20,000 in total K20's built in 1972, and over half those have been junked by now. Has the mechanical stuff been rebuilt or just painte. For example, if they put all new bearings and seals in the axles, transfer case, rebuilt trans, rebuilt engine, with receipts its a screaming deal if there is no rust. I'm betting that much work wasn't done though since its usually not if they put the mirrors, tranny cooler and emblems on like that.

The higher prices for cars is not straight up due the production numbers, its due to the greater amount of people wanting the cars. Consider this:

1969 Camaro
Production: 225,512 coupe, 17,573 convertible, , 243,085 total
20302 Z28's

1969 K20
Production: 8400 and change (counting suburbans and chassis cabs)

1972 K20
Production: 22,000 and change (counting suburbans and chassis cabs)

So if this truck is the real deal (Spid matching frame) its not just one of 22,000 (which in itself is as scarce). Its one of a fraction of that for that option list. Its really 50 times rarer than an average 67-72 truck and its definitely not that order of magnitude more $ the average 67-72. Its undervalued if you really think about the rarity (again, assuming its the real thing and not pieced together). Considering this, the truck could be a bargain. That being said, I wouldn't pay the asking price without checking it over in person for the things others have mentioned here. If it checks out it could be a real nice investment IMO.
