We cut the frame horns off of the stock 59 frame and just welded it to the front of the s-10 frame. With some cutting and trimming on the s-10 frame horns of course. But everything bolts up and lines up perfect!

Re: "Mable" 1959 Apache Build On A S-10 Frame

I am thinking of putting my 1959 short wide chevy body onto a 1995 P71 caprice frame. Ed from E-Z CHASSIS SWAPS, LLC told me that he has a pretty easy kit for sale for around $1500. The 59 is already a nice cruiser, but I own a service station and would really like to start driving it everyday for marketing around town. Anyone here done one on a P71 chassis?

Don't think I've heard of this swap but it sounds interesting. Is the P71 the police fleet edition? Having the LT1 and 4L60 that comes in those would definitely work out if you were driving it everday!

Re: Eisenhower '59 Apache Build On A S-10 Frame

I'm in for some updates. I saw the slammed GMC cruising in Spring Hope a few weeks back down by Advance Auto. Looking good. Does Nate own an exhaust shop by chance?

Cool man, yeah he lives right up the road from Spring Hope in the country side of Castalia.... His pops, uncle and cousin work at ez muffler in rocky mt. So if you've seen his truck there that's probably why

Re: Eisenhower '59 Apache Build On A S-10 Frame

**SOME UPDATES**

Let's see here. We got the body back on the frame. Ended up shaving the drip rails. Was gonna be way to much rust repair to fix them, so we just shaved em. Pretty much been in mock stage for a few weeks now. Lining up doors (which is a HUGE pain in the rear.) Fixing tiny rust holes that keep popping up everywhere. Fixing gaps here and there.

Currently have the front sheet metal back off to spray with some epoxy and slick sand. Once they're ready I'm sending em down to my painter. Then we're finishing up the body work on the cab, taking it back off the frame to send for paint then coating the frame with por. Pretty much on the short roads now fellas!!

Great Build!!!!!!!
I have been sitting on 57 chevy Big window truck that was rough. Now I know what I going to do with it. Gone put it on 2dr 1990 S10 Blazer frame. Going to Cut the bed down to fit.
Did you document the placement of the cap mounts?

Hell yeah man! Would love to see more 55-59's on the road around the way...

The only photo I saw in my thread of a cab mount was post number 5. I'll have to dig thru some photos to see if there is anymore

Re: Eisenhower '59 Apache Build On A S-10 Frame

This is where we're currently at. Front sheet metal body worked and primed. Working on the door bottoms now to get them ready for body work and primer...Don't mind the bird. My homie Nate is very photogenic, ha!
