chrome plastic here I come!!!

Holy cr@p!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/271152748829...84.m1423.l2649

I just saw one go for $92 and thought that was a little high.....this? Is this what we have to look forward too? This is more along the lines of rare car NOS pricing, not a chevy truck.........thoughts?

Re: chrome plastic here I come!!!

Well I bought the plastic ones from LMC and I would be happy to give them to someone for $5 bucks. Their crap.

Then I picked up a set off CL for $20.00. Im not sure if they are GM but they are metal and look really good with no pitting.

With that said their is no way in hell I would pay 700.00 for new ones when it would only cost 300.00 to have old ones re chromed.

You should have bought it. I have paid more for true NOS pieces.

Re: chrome plastic here I come!!!

Yeah, that is out of control. I hope to G*d that no one gives that person anywhere near that price. Last week I saw a pair of rusty 305 V6 heads for sale for $800...after I got done laughing, I changed my shorts. People are crazy and need to stop watching Barrett-Jackson and Pickers.

Re: chrome plastic here I come!!!

One good thing about this. Our trucks are getting worth more and more through the years. I had an 85 LWB I really wish I would have kept. I think back at how much money and time i had in that truck and now starting over...

worth more as parts or as a whole?

dont confuse used prices with NOS prices...used parts still go for cheap

Re: chrome plastic here I come!!!

Price is price is its something you need for your build or want for your build , depending how your building it. I guess you could get a HONDA CIVIC or ACCORD or something a little cheaper to build ....

Re: chrome plastic here I come!!!

On a serious note......

If I were building a 100% new off the factory floor style truck and had plenty of money to spend, they'd be mine.

That's exactly what I think! LOL

Reminds me of the the TV networks that hope no one notices how all the DYI reno shows and house flipper shows seem to have vanished now that the economy is the pits and all the knuckleheads that thought 'that looks easy' and got caught with 4 broke-butt homes and no cash.
