71 drive shaft

i need a drive shaft for my 71 shortbed 2wd. its got theth400 tranny. what will work in it that i could find at the bone yard?

Something the right length with a good th400 yoke and good 1310 ujoints, that's in a car that was never picked up with a forklift.
If you gave us a tailshaft to center of ujoint measurement for your truck we could tell you how long the shaft would need to be center to center.
If you value your time and don't like spending a bunch of money shortening rebuilding and ballancing a rusty old shaft new ones are around $250

Do a internet search for someone local to you. Also on e-bay there was a guy that custom made shafts for around 2 dead presidents also.

I've been working in a driveline shop for about 5 years.
You can give rick, carl, or scott a call at 417-863-1830 we have free shipping on new shafts. If you called now it could be in a box on its way to your house this afternoon.
Still need that tailshaft to center of rear ujoint measurement at ride height.
