Nasty. Tailgate could easily be worth half the asking price.

Wrecked 71 chevy 3/4 4x4. Cab is no good. Passenger door might be saved. Frame is straight. No motor. Transfercase and transmition in good shape. Bed is in super shape with no major rust at all

I would think this alone is worth $1500

Are tailgates really worth about $700? If so, I'm kicking myself that I didn't take one I saw at the junkyard that's every bit as nice as that one

Wow. Damn. I really goofed by not picking that up. I just looked up the price at the yard for a tailgate: $29.99

Re: OUCH! Really bad wreck.

After growing up in a body shop seeing just about every kind of wreckage.........I can say with a 90% certainty the frame is NOT straight. the motor is going to have high probability of spider cracks from the jarring impact, the transmission will have shifted and possibly broke free of the mounts. The Core support is pushed back nearly 6 inches, and the drivers side axle is reared almost 8 inches or better.....with this how could the transfer case be in 100% working order.
With all this, the truck is probably worth the $1500 as a donor for 60% of the trucks metal and mechanics can be salvaged.

Re: OUCH! Really bad wreck.

That looks exactly like a member's truck..but his name escapes me..

Don't think the tow hooks are factory, these look like they're mounted on the bottom side of the frame, not the side.

Re: OUCH! Really bad wreck.

A lot of the lower side moulding looks to be in pretty good shape.

That, plus the bed and tailgate and someones in the money.

Mister-B, if you get your hands on a nice gate with no rust through, very minor dents and it is not bowed from stuff in the bed sliding into it, it is worth every cent of $300.00. The very very few NOS gates still in the GM box are turning $800.00 to $1,000.00.

Man that looks like it was a nice truck, but for 1500 I'd buy it if it was around here.
