LS Swap Motor Mounts

I have read page after page and am now crosseyed. There seems to be no real concensous on what setup works the best. I know no two trucks or builds are the same, but is there a good, better, best? Or is it kinda trial and error. Im doing a 5.3L into a 4x2 82 GMC, more than lokely no a/c. Thanks

Re: LS Swap Motor Mounts

Dirty Dingo makes good bolt on mounts. But they are expensive! That's what I'm using.

Re: LS Swap Motor Mounts

I read on another forum that a guy had a really bad experience with dirty dingo mounts. I will try to provide a link, but it mainly had to do with sub-par quality welds and customer service. I read where a lot of people use them and are pleased, so it could be an isolated incident.

Thanks for the input. I understand that not everyone will have the same experience with any company. As far as $$ Im not that concerned.

I used the car shop plates. 50 bucks and they are made local and sold local to you and I in the Moline/Quad cities area.

Re: LS Swap Motor Mounts

Here is a D D on a stand that I had my 350 350 on and except for the taller oil pan everything will bolt up starting with the drive shaft.
I am still gathering parts for my 78

Re: LS Swap Motor Mounts

Wow, I was ready to order some DD mounts until I read that CK5 thread. Now I'm wondering. Maybe I should drive down to Mesa, (assuming I can go to their shop) and take a look at them before I purchase. Since I'm using the original SM465/205 I'm not planning on moving anything fore/aft, but the idea of have some flexibility seemed like a good idea.

I bill out quite a bit more than $88/hr at work....but I'm a built not bought guy. Hot rodding is more satisfying that way.

It's 10 holes in 2 flat plates. If that takes 2 hours....I guess you were better off with the phone call

It was not the 10 holes it was the pattern that took half the time!!!
