Post Vent window glass removal-without hammer! ??

How do you get an unbroken vent window glass out of the framing? I've got some chrome ones without glass and was wanting to take the glass out of a painted frame vent window and simply put the glass in the chrome set. Call me STUPID but that darn tape holding it in is super stuff!

I got a glass to re-seal using a small propane torch and heating the frame. Heating the frame might let it come out too.

We have new vent window glass in stock in tinted or clear if interested. http://www.gmcpaulstruckparts.com/new_products.htm
Otherwise use oven on lowest setting for about 1/2 hour and throw some oven mitts on remove assembly and pull glass out.

chevy service manual says use "prepsol" on the channel around the glass and let it sit a little, this will soften the seal. Don't know what "prepsol" is though. Good luck!

I'VE HAD PRETTY GOOD LUCK USING A SMALL FLAT SCREWDRIVER IN BETWEEN THE FRAME & THE GLASS AT THE TOP & BOTTOM TO LOOSEN THE GLASS IN THE FRAME. NEVER TRIED HEAT, BUT SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA.

May those who love us, love us, any of those who do not love us, may God turn their hearts.
And if God is unable to turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles so we may know them by their limping.

A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; but a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist.
