Auto Trans and E-Brake

How many of you keep your E-brake after swapping to an auto trans?

Re: Auto Trans and E-Brake

Why would you NOT keep the parking brake functional?

Re: Auto Trans and E-Brake

word. Auto trans is not a replacement for an e-brake. Park it on a hill without a parking brake and you are not doing your new auto trans any favors. Keep in mind - most states require a functional parking brake regardless of trans type (ask me how I now... I don't miss VA (no offense to my VA friends, but I'm sure your'e tired of getting the goofy safety inspections just like I was)). Anyhoo - definitely keep it no matter where you live.

Re: Auto Trans and E-Brake

When on a hil or an steep incline, set the E-brake and wear it out, vice breaking the auto trans. It is a hell of a lot cheaper than the tranny.
