Maryville area, actually Seymour TN is where we rented a place. Our closing here is mid April so I am getting things figured out and trying to get the truck back together as well.


I thought about a tow bar as well or a tow dolly.

Well the move is done and the car trailer worked great except I had the car on there instead of my truck. While doing my engine run in after the rebuild the rear main seal was leaking so we pulled the pan and installed a new one but there is also a significant leak somewhere on the top of the engine that had us scratching our heads. Anyway the truck stayed behind so a couple of friends could pull the engine and find out whats going on. So here was my moving rig a 22' diesel box truck (packed floor to ceiling front to back) and the trailer with the wifes car.

Glad it all worked out for you. I did the same thing about 10 years ago, moving from Florida to Kansas. Had the biggest truck I could rent with everything I owned stuffed in. Had my Ford Ranger on a tow dolly.

Tow bar will get it there as long as the engine is in it , some times having them sit so high in the front messes up the geometry and the wheels wont track right ...

Heres my long bed on a uhaul trailer..Trailer was just barely long enough but I see no reason why a shortie wouldn't fit on one.

Just stay away from Uhaul. I rented a 5 ton like that and after about 40 miles the exhaust fell off right at the manifold. I knew they would make me unload it and leave it as the bolts had broken off so I drove that POS for 500 miles with open exhaust. I hope I burned the valves out of it as it wasn't road worthy anyways, had to hold the shifter in with my leg to keep it from popping out, never again UHaul.

I rented a Uhaul when I moved from Boise to Spokane and the door wouldn't shut all the way and I had to stop every 70 miles to fill up and that was at 55 mph. What a POS! Never again!
