I have a '67 1/2 ton and used a front end off of a '72 3/4 ton. I had a wrecking yard cut the frame off at the firewall so that I had everything. I just unbolted the 6 crossmember bolts and put it up under my truck. Not bad for 6 bolts. I have bever done anything like that before it it went real easy for me.

You do have to disconnect the brake lines, steering and motor mounts before removing the x-member. I just left all the suspension, etc right on the x-member. It makes it heavy but saves a lot of disassembly, assembly time.
