60-66 project questions

Hey guys have am getting ready to get going on another build and have a few questions

Do the hoods /fenders /cabs interchange on all from 60-66 mind if not which yeas do.

I like the earlier 60-61 style cab with the wrap around windshield but I like the hoods of the 65-66 better. Just trying to see how much these parts interchange so I can start gathering parts .

As far as the frame I am going to be running a full porterbilt set up so will the frames be the same from 60-66

Sorry for the stupid questions but I have to start somewhere

Thanks
Brian

Re: 60-66 project questions

frames are diffrent from 60-62 to 63-66
cabs are the kinda the same from 60-63 , interior and glass , doors are
same , 63 has coil spring front end and single diapham brakes ,
to get u closer to what u want i would get a 1963 chevy c10
that gets u the wrap around windshield(knee knocker cab) single diapham brakes ( easy to upgrade to disc) coil front end with normal frame and coil spring rear ( easier to bag)
63-66 hood is same

60-62 trucks have torsion bar front ends with an interior x frame bracing

gmc trucks will have a leaf spring rear also

Re: 60-66 project questions

any hood chev/gmc will interchange all the way up to 80 series, only exception is the LCF with the short hood. 60-61 took a longer hood latch pin, so be sure to get that too.
hood style break down is: 60-61 chev, 60-61 gmc, 62-66 chev, and 62-66 gmc.

inner fenders 60-66 chev/gmc 10-30 series are all the same. 60-61 are cosmetically different with the hood spring mount, but still fit/work the same.

all 60-66 fenders 10-30 series are the same except for different year badge or trim holes:
60,63,64,66 chev all have badges, 60-61 chev and gmc with the deluxe trim have a a few extra holes. 62-66 chev and gmc with the optional trim use the same holes/trim.

grille supports were changed in 63 with a couple of notches for the frame rails, 60-62 chev and gmc supports will have to be modified a little to fit over a 63-66 frame
60-62 chev and gmc use the same grille mount holes. 64-66 chev use the same grille mount holes.

doors all interchange 60-63 c10/c80, and 64-66 C10/C80
