Re: Big Red Dog

Good to hear from you. Hope all is well and warm in your part of the world.

Workin too dang much to call it retirement.

Its too dang cold to be outside.

Adding an extension onto the shop and the concrete guys agree with the above statement.

But I do have a new 3.73:1 Dana 70 HD on the rear and a new '73 front end with discs on the front.

Sad though, the pre '73 Alcoa rims don't fit over the calipers or the hubs. Looking for post '73 Alcoa rims.

Man, a disk would be really nice. Thanks.

Dave.

Re: Big Red Dog

I had left on a mini-RR the day you posted. Yup, I've looked at it and it looks great. 136 jpegs of your work, suitable for framing.

Man, looking back on that again amazes me at the transformation that took place in your garage. I take every opportunity to show this thread off.

Everything is in the garage and out of the weather being "princessed". The T/A is in the driveway and may have to be moved one more time before dismantle. But...

I went to work yesterday wearing a fleece jacket embarrassed and sweating in 72' F. When I got off this am, it was ice, snow and 29' F. I was glad I brought the jacket, then.

I have a shop extension that might play into the dismantle of the T/A. Last fall I contracted a 20x36 pad extension with 10x20 driveways on each end. Weather caught us and it will be poured this spring. It may serve as the site of destruction if they get to it soon enough.

I did find a set of steel wheels that I will strip with electrolysis and probably powder coat. I may be calling you for your opinions when I get there. I really don't want to try electrolysis in freezing weather. Or cold weather for that matter.

Good to hear from you. Hope you and all your projects, both garage and n0n-garage related, are going smoothly.

Dave.

Re: Big Red Dog

She is sure cute! Cookie and all. My youngest was about half the size of her older sister for the first few years.

You put your truck in that? Assembled? I wouldn't think it would fit.

Re: Big Red Dog

82" between the fenders and just shy of 98" total inside. Haven't had it in there yet but it will fit. My other trailer was 82 inside fenders and had room to spare. I might have to build a ramp over the fenders so I can open the doors vs climb through the window. Thanks Dave she's my little doll. She's small for her size but me and her mother really aren't breaking any height records lol

Re: Big Red Dog

I don't remember telling this tale. I had an 80 something corvette once. hauled it on the red trailer I used for Big Red. Sat so low I couldn't open the doors. Had to climb out the windows. But it wasn't covered and rain would spoil the innards. Therefore, I justified driving really fast so I would get there before it rained.

At least I had an excuse.

Won't have to worry about hail, rain or any thing else falling on it now! I think she's going in the trailer this weekend.. How many miles your red dodge have on it now?

Re: Big Red Dog

I don't have a problem bringing one over for you to drive. Its a subtle effect. Like, "Hey, I could of had an inline 6!" instead of a V-8.
